                Roulette Rules & Strategy

First thing you better know about the game of Roulette is that there a 38 total numbers on the table. Second of all, any time you ever gamble where you use guessing as your procedure, the house develops a major advantage over you. Players all the time bet their birthdays, anniversaries, number of children, or the number of their favorite basketball player. When the dealer spins the ball, inevitably, you are guessing that the ball is going to land on your number.

Also, the game of Roulette affords you many bets, which seem to be in the player's advantage. Below are a list of all the bets on the a roulette wheel and the percentage of chance of winning that bet against the house. You will quickly start to see why it is referred as a house game.

THESE ARE OUTSIDE BETS
1) black and red 48%
odd and even
1-18 and 19-36

2) 1st, 2nd, 3rd twelve 31%
1st, 2nd, 3rd columns
THESE ARE INSIDE BETS

1) straight up bet on one number 35-1

2) split 17-1

3) street (3 number bet) 11-1

4) corner (4 number bet) 8-1

5) double street (6 number bet) 5-1

When you take the time to do the math, you can quickly see how the house creates their advantage. Look below and watch the math and how it works with the bets we just read about.

There are 38 numbers on the Roulette board. When you place a bet, you have to meet the table minimum of $5-$10 dollars. So even when you get lucky and hit one number out of 38 and make $35 dollars off of it, you actually only made $31 because you had to meet the $5 requirement. Watch the math below:

The payoffs are the number of numbers times the payoff.

35x1=35
17x2=34
11x3=33
8x4=32
6x5=30

You can clearly see how the more numbers you bet, the smaller return on the payoff.

What I want to impress to anyone who is interested in making any kind of money in Roulette, is there is only one bet of choice. THE STRAIGHT UP! It is the least investment with the largest return.

Block betting is a method that has been around for years in the casino business. Very few have it mastered and because of this, casinos keep on making the kind of money that they do.

Block betting is the art of picking a series of numbers in a row on the wheel head, not on the Roulette layout. Go to any casino and get a copy of their wheel head. It should be on the Roulette table, just ask a dealer. You want to (see illustration on my card) pick out 9 numbers in a row on the wheel head. The key number here is 9. These numbers can have or start with your lucky number, it doesn't matter. Then once you have picked out your 9 numbers, you want to pick another 9 numbers DIRECTLY opposite your first 9 numbers on the opposite side of the wheel head.

When betting, you will look at the numbers which at the reader board and have came up in the last 6 spins. After you have done this, you will pick one of your two blocks of numbers and play it 4 times in a row.
Watch the math: 9 numbers, 4 times in a row is 36 chips. You hit one number in four tries, you get paid 35-1 plus the one chip you bet on the number that you just hit and you have 36. This principle has to do with diminishing returns. If you hit once in 4 tries you are even, if you hit 2, or 3 times in your block, you are up 70, or 105 chips. If these are $1 dollar chips you are looking good, but if they are $5 dollars or $25 dollar chips, you are up $350 -$1750 dollars in 4 spins and you CASH OUT!

The longer you play, and the greedier you get, the better chance the casinos have of making their money back. Once you make a big win, get out. Remember the phrase that pays: "INVEST A LITTLE, TAKE OUT A LOT." This is the key denominator of any good system in gambling.
